I am giving this 4 stars because I stupidly didn’t pay attention to the fact that some of the care plan diagnoses were not NANDA-I. I feel like most nursing students will feel my pain at doing care plans late into the night and not always noticing little details (like the missing NANDA-I mark over Dx). I almost failed a clinical day because I used a non-NANDA Dx in my paperwork. Now that I have looked back and figured out what I did wrong, I see that they are labeled when they are NANDA. I just think it would be better if there was some kind of marking to draw attention of sleep-deprived nursing students to the fact that certain ones are not NANDA approved. Other than that, the book has been a great resource thus far (4 weeks into second semester of nursing school) and I don’t foresee myself ever not using it during my academic career.So, warning to all, while this book has great information and has been very useful, you just have to pay attention.

I love this book. Wish I found it prior to my last semester of nursing school. Also wish my school would use it for their official diagnosis book - perhaps they think it would make writing up all those care plans too easy?? Three of my classmates purchased it after I showed them mine. Seriously, this book is well organized and super easy to follow.

I purchased this textbook for my girlfriend who is a nursing instructor at a university. She absolutely loves it and says it is unequivocally the best nursing care plan book she has ever seen. She has used it making top notch nursing care plans while caring for patients and uses it to teach her nursing students how to create an excellent nursing care plan. Highly recommend.

I begin my first semester of nursing school in four days. After doing research in regards to a good care plan and diagnosis reference, I kept getting directed to this book. I was planning on purchasing the eighth edition until I discovered the ninth edition was just released. While I haven't gotten the chance to really apply this book to my classes, without a doubt, this book is worth the buy. I'll add photos to this review, but the main reason I love this book is the excellent organization and easy readability. This is by no means a small book, but the index and table of contents makes it insanely easy to navigate, and the text is very easy to follow. I also really appreciate that the pages are color coordinated along the outside of the book (see picture). I tried to get a complete copy of the table of contents so you get an idea of what you're purchasing. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to any nursing student, this is going to be extremely useful during clinicals.

Super excellent Nursing Care Planning manual for the beginning pre-nursing student. Buy one the semester before you start nursing school and you will be two steps ahead of everyone else. You can actually buy it for Kindle and carry it around to class, without the actual book weight. Look smart, be smart, act smart, and be a super RN caregiver. You won't regret the purchase.

This book has been a tremendous help to me throughout my first semester of nursing school. Super-organized sections, diagnoses having definitions, and lots of examples of various interventions from physical, to therapeutic, to teaching, complete with rationales. Love this book!!

This book would have been great if it gave more examples than "risk for skin integrity" for a brain injury, etc. I attempted to return it within the window, but two days before my return code expired, UPS said it was invalid. I attempted to cancel my return and start it over like it said I could, but once I clicked it, it wouldn't give me the option to return it again. So frustrated right now. This book is not helpful in any way. If you want a truly helpful nursing diagnosis book, use and actual NANDA written one to help you. You won't be prepared for your exams and NCLEX otherwise.

I am a nursing student and this book has helped me develop care plans for my class. My teachers think it is a little too complicated and we should keep our care plans more simplified but I still enjoy using it.
