About the Author
Michael Dahl is the prolific author of the bestselling Goodnight, Baseball picture book and more than 200 other books for children and young adults. I just got this book and I absoluty LOVE IT!!! it is bigger than I thought and the quality is AMAZING., the drawings inside are really well made and the pages are really strong and sturdy. love the story behind it and I cannot wait to read it to my 4 year old. He is such a Washington Capitals fan. All his life is about hockey and about Oshie and Ovie. He is having a 4th bday party and of course his theme is hockey. He is not a good sleeper, I am hopeing this book will help him go to sleep in a good mood and relaxed after reading a story about his passion and looking at these amazing illustrations and really vibrant colors.I didn't know it was a sports illustrated book. I am really pleased. The story is about hochey of course but kids can relate to it. They can picture themselves excited about their team winning. It shows the meaning of sports and team supportive fan.I recommend this book to all hockey fans.... ages 4 and up. The story is really well told and easy for the kids to follow.will be a really good addition to kids library.
My 4 yr old son is all about hockey these days but it's hard to find hockey books to read before bed overnight. We found 'Z Is for Zamboni: A Hockey Alphabet' by Matt Napier which he loves but after reading it almost 100 times, we needed to broaden our selection of hockey books. Luckily I found this gem of a book by Michael Dahl. It's a quick read which is great but fun and colorful. The story flows like the words of a poem and it's illustrations are top notch. My son and his parents love this book.
I bought this book for 3 year old twins and they love it! The pictures are very colorful and the story is cute!
My 2 year old grandson is obsessed with hockey. Everything is a stick or a puck. I have purchased 3 of these so he could have it at home and his grandparents houses. He sleeps with it and asks to read it all the time. He will even quote lines from the book. Loves to tell us that he is going to bed to have his hockey dream. The hockey rhymes and pictures make it very entertaining for little ones.
Cute book, perfect for our 3 year old who loves hockey. We initially were reading this book on the kindle through prime reading for free. We read it so many times I decided it’d be nice to have a real copy.
Very well written and pictures are well illustrated. I purchased this as an intro to the sport, for a toddler who will be learning more about hockey before he goes to his first game as a little spectator, I also bought a Franklin hockey net that game with 2 toddler sized sticks and soft balls to further interest him in the game.
For any young (3-5 years old) hockey lover. Short story with great pictures.
Beautifully illustrated, nice book. This is such a great gift for your little hockey lover. My only gripe is the pages somehow didn't come cut all the way (as in some pages were connected at the top). This was easily fixed with scissors but I probably wouldn't have gifted it to anyone other than my son because its not totally uniform.
