I don't know why this has such high reviews. I ordered expecting an interesting and informative book for my kids to learn about Mexico. Instead each page has an outline of the shape of each state and a few dull facts. The extra pages in the back are mostly blank for you to fill in from research you do elsewhere. I was looking for the source of said research, not a blank notebook with a pretty cover. Very disappointing, not as advertised.

This is a great collection of black line maps for each individual Mexican state. Each page also includes facts about the specific state such as the capital, motto, area, and other interesting facts. There are map pages in both English and Spanish. In addition to the maps, there are also blank note booking pages for compiling facts, biographical information, history, etc. This is a helpful resource for a homeschool family interested in studying Mexican geography.
This is a wonderful overview of Mexican geography -- great as is or use as a springboard to dig even deeper into Mexico. In addition to the page for each of the 32 states there are 7 notebooking pages to utilize in further study. There are also pages with the coats of arms that can be utilized in the notebooking pages or other projects or games. Each state's page includes an inset map showing where within the country the state is located. The map of the state on the page can be used to label rivers, cities, towns and other places of interest. You'll be creating your own personal book of Mexican state geography.

I received a review copy of this book for my blog and was compensated for the review, but I wanted to share my thoughts here as well. This book was a helpful addition to our history study. We used it after studying about Mexico's fight for independence and enjoyed learning facts about the country. I did expect a bit more information, but I thought the addition of worksheets for biographies and state reports, etc. was a really good idea. I also loved how the book is written both in English and Spanish and could see it as a useful resource for students studying Spanish as well as Mexican history and geography.
I was impressed with this study. It's so much more than a coloring book (which is what I was expecting in a good way). It's a great overview study of Mexico and its geography and as well as a great place to start for an in depth study. Its super easy to navigate with the states listed in alphabetical order. And I especially love that the coat of arms for each state is also shared - that's a fun easy way to add art to each lesson. In addition to the coloring pages that display the state, capital, location and facts, there are also notebooking pages and a list of resource pages included. There is a lot of information packed in this study.
